Inside: Easy Tutorial for Drawing Sparkles.
Hi Artists! Today we are learning to draw sparkles.
Now, this is a fun versatile one. You can make most things sparkle…
The size of the sparkles depends on the object and your mood as the artist. Isn’t that fun?!
Sparkles can make anything you draw feel magical.
Think about it. Drawing a castle? Adding some sparkles will make it seem like it’s out of a fairy tale.
Drawing a smile? Including a sparkle on the teeth will show just how shiny and bright the smile is.
There is really no end to the things you can add sparkles to, and that makes my heart happy!
I think of sparkles like bubbles, they can be many colors and sizes in the same area. So you have the room to do whatever it is you want with this!
Artistic freedom at its finest.
Today, we are just going to draw sparkles alone, but you can add them to any drawing.
Supplies You’ll Need:
These are some basic art supplies you probably already have around your house. So gather them up and we can begin! If you don’t have some of these, don’t worry. You can buy basically everything on this list for under 10 dollars. Art is for everyone, you don’t need a lot of money to get started.

How to Draw Simple Sparkles Shapes
Let’s get started:
First, let’s make sure our paper is in the landscape position, which means sideways like a train.
Artist tip: point to the middle of your paper with your finger. This will tell your eyes how much space you have to draw in. It does not have to be exact!
1. We are going to draw a diamond shape with curved sides.
2. Draw a few of this same shape, but in differing sizes. Draw lightly, as we will add color and don’t want the guideline to show.
How to color sparkles
3. Now, COLOR on the outside of the sparkle. Any colors you want, try to keep the color lines going out from the shape.
4. Next, use the clean tissue to blend the colors outward.
5. Finally, erase any colors that got in the middle of the sparkle, and any pencil lines that are still visible.
Sparkles are so fun and simple. They can be added to any art or are great on their own!
This exercise looks great on black paper too.
And that’s it! Wasn’t that easy?
Now you have another tool under your artist belt that you can bring to whatever project you may be working on in the future.
